My dear Cara
Remembering your experienced sympathy, I cannot refrain from telling you that we are much happier about Thornie. Paget thinks him on the way to recovery, and the signs of this are very marked. His nights are usually passed quietly, and on most days he is carried down to the lawn, and lies out there for two or three hours. 90 You will imagine how glad we are of the warmer weather which makes this strengthening change possible for him.
I conclude that you are at home again by this time, though the weeks have passed so dreamily for me that I cannot tell how long it is since I saw you. With love to Sara
