Pray consider the Strauss M.S.S. waste paper. I shall never want them again.
I dined with your old acquaintance Dr. Conolly 491 at Sir James Clark's the other day. After having been familiar with the large fat-looking portrait in your room, I was amazed to see a rather small unimpressive man. He took me down to dinner and we talked of you.
I spent last evening at Mr. Chapman's. There was a little party, and their new drawing-room looked very pretty.
Tell Sara I can imagine her shuddering at the "Cosmogonical Principal in God." 492 The disgusting ignorance and carelessness with which such things are managed are really exasperating. In haste
