Dear Cara
Various small obstacles, such as want of stamps, have been a reason, or, if you wish, a pretext for not writing to you to tell you that I got safely here after you, by dint of good coffee and kind looks had sent me on my way rejoicing. 377 I like my lodgings -- the housekeeper cooks charming little dinners for me, and I have not one disagreeable to complain of at present, save such as are inseparable from a ground floor. Still, I shall not be at all surprized to find myself in the Strand again at the end of November.
I hope you are likely to survive the heavy dose of theories you have had. 378 Love to all. Alas -- alas, the weather 379 and the business!
Extra love and sympathy to Mr. Bray.
Yours ever
Pollian.
