Dear Friends
On Tuesday morning I was seized with rheumatism in my right shoulder which on Wednesday got so bad that we sent for Mr. Dunn. 267 The consequence was that my shoulder was packed in wadding. I was put to bed and duly dosed. Frightful pain and sickness on Thursday, but improvement in every way yesterday, and now this morning I am able to write to you that I have been ill, which I do, that, if Mr. Bray should find me looking rather "gashly," he may not be surprized. 268
