My dear Barbara
I hope I shall not be too troublesome in asking to have some news of your progress in health. It seems too long to me since my disposition to fear was checked by hearing that you were enjoying the summer and gathering strength. If Miss Marks is still with you I am sure that she will be kind enough to write me a little report about you. At present I imagine that the Doctor is with you and that your life may be too full of claims on your attention. But let this note be taken as a telegraphed question which some one else will answer with telegraphic brevity. An "all is well" would be a great satisfaction.
We are both ailing in body but otherwise well off in the world.
