May 7.
My dear Lord Houghton
I read your kind letter only last night, on our return from a long journey which took us as far as Vienna.
We shall be very happy to accept Lady Houghton's kind invitation for the 15th. 899 I am rejoiced to hear that her health has improved.
In our rambles we saw more than one person who spoke to us about you -- the Lyttons, for example, who were very good to us at Vienna.
Yours very truly
M. E. Lewes.
