I agree with all you say today, and I wish to suppress the letter. It is really unsafe to act on the reports afloat.
Mr. Lewes intended to call on you today. I hope he has not missed you. Pray let me have the pleasure of seeing you and the Major on Saturday. I wish very much to talk with you of the new aspect things are wearing.
