My dear Sir
The two chapters from which I wish the illustrations for Part IV to be taken 98 might now be put in type for Mr. Leighton, if you would be kind enough to send for the M.S.
I should like to accommodate Mr. Leighton, if he wants to get away from town; but perhaps he has chosen the present interval for going, since he has not yet made any sign about the illustrations for Part 3.
If you happen to know that he is away, of course the chapters in question need not be put in type before the remainder of the Part.
Mr. Lewes started in the sunshine this morning. I hope that best of companions will not forsake him. I remain, My dear Sir,
