My dear Sir
I cannot rest without thanking you for the Photographs, which I had been pleased to think of possessing even as simple pieces of paper to be inserted in a book. But your kind and pretty device has quite outstripped my imagination. I am really obliged to you.
The revival of the first impression from the drawings makes one sympathize with poor Mr. Leighton's chagrin at the engraver's rendering of Nello -- and Bardo, too, is far less feeble in the original than in the translation. 93
I am also in arrear of acknowledgment for your gift of Mr. Rossetti's book, 94 which I am very glad to possess. I remain, My dear Sir,
