My dear Sir
I saw Mr. Perry on Wednesday, and he told me that he found some inaccuracies in the facts of the Pamphlet. He has promised to correct them on his proof and to let me have it that I many transfer them. I will try to get it today and take it to the Strand, since you have sent your proof there.
I beg you will not make me a referee in any matters relating to Mr. Chapman, as I have nothing whatever to do with his affairs. You must allow me to return the stamps which you have enclosed, as I have had no expense with your proofs. I remain, my dear Sir,
