Please understand me to be waiting in the hope that you may possibly foresee an evening when nothing more agreeable solicits you than the bringing your violin to us, 427 and that you will let me know of it. . . .
Visitors and various time-taking nothings have kept me away from the piano, . . .
I know that you write to your dear wife daily. Will you give my love to her and tell her that [letter] is much valued, . . . I am a feeble creature, 428 and never get into the day half the things I want to do.
