Dearest Elinor
The collar, cuffs and lace are just what I desired. A thousand thanks.
I have had a long interview with dear Charles this morning, and have been greatly comforted by the perfectly beautiful feeling he has shown. You will all three be glad to know this.
My influenza is still a troublesome guest. But I think she is packing up her trunks and slowly preparing to depart. After you were gone came Mrs. Orr and Sir F. Pollock and filled up the whole afternoon.
It is a relief to me which you will understand that Charles has undertaken to tell Edith Simcox and two other friends. 399
