Mrs. G. H. Lewes (George Eliot) presents her compliments to Mr. Courtney Kenny 115 and thanks him for his kindness in wishing to help her by pointing out errata in "Middlemarch." Of the two cases which he has noted in Book III. the one on p. 8. 1. 15 will, she thinks, be seen by him not to be an error if he will take the trouble to reconsider it. 116 The real erratum of "nulli" for "nullo" 117 was corrected on a slip stitched into Book IV., and the page has since been cancelled and replaced by a new one in the stereotype.
