Dear Friend
I have paid to Mr. Chapman the £1.5 which will be due from me to you on the 1st of December, 498 so please to demand it of him when you see him. Miss Julia Smith is to be their lodger in Blandford Square.
I am not going until next Thursday I believe. If I said anything ill-natured in my last letter, pray consider it retracted. We never make enough allowance for the difference between the points of view of different people.
Ever yours affectionately
Marian Evans.
