Dear Friend
I was sorry you did not see Richmond on one of those lovely days that came after your first rainy and twilight visit. 774
I think we didn't tell you that we shall go to the Scilly Isles in the middle of March, and shall probably be away from Richmond for a month or two from that time. But perhaps your visit to Richmond will not occur till our return. 775
You needn't observe any secrecy about articles of mine. It is an advantage (pecuniarily) to me that I should be known as the writer of the articles in the Westminster. 776 And I am a very calculating person now -- valuing approbation as representing guineas.
We shall bear in mind your indication of the passage to be read in the Philosophy of Necessity. 777
