Dearest Bessie
Thanks for your sympathy. We do feel that Charlie's marriage is an addition to our blessings, for we love Gertrude very much, and think her just the life-companion who will have the most beneficial influence on "the boy."
I have often wondered how all things fared with you and wished that I could know you were seeing a happy issue to certain anxieties.
You have been suffering from the weather -- and so have we. Who has not, that is at all delicate?
The "Pair" are gone to Florence, so one may at least say they are gone southward, which is usually equivalent to saying they are gone to milder regions. But Florence, in my experience, is cruelly cold and gusty in March and early April.
