Dear Bessie
Loving thanks for the Poems. 159 Sitting over the fire with a sore throat this afternoon, I have read many of them. They have much value and sacredness for me, giving me glimpses of the history of your mind in the years during which we have seen so little of each other. Among those I have most enjoyed are the "Voluntaries." The Ballad of the <Queen's> King's Daughter I remember admiring long ago.
We are stationed in London for some time now, except for very brief flights -- family duties requiring us to be at home this summer. Ever, dear friend, with keen memory,
