Dear Friend
The reason we have not written to ask for your companionship in going to the Exhibition 364 is, that I have been in rather a severely ailing condition, which came on with the cold feet and confusion of head I complained of when you were with us just a week ago. 365 Unfortunately I am rather worse than better today, and as I see little prospect of my being able to fix anything a day beforehand, I am not easy without writing to let you know why our behaviour appears so little consequent.
