My dear Aunt Pollie,
Miss Eborall bought me a dress, and also a pair of boots for dancing. Thank you very much for them dear Aunty.
I have read "Adam Bede" and like it so much I am going to read it again soon, Miss Jebb is reading it now. We have twenty boarders now so that the house is quite full. I like dancing very much and am trying to get on with it. The Queen passed through Lichfield last Monday. The train went so fast that we did not see much of her. Aunt Sarah 481 has been to see us again since I saw you, she brought Nelly 482 with her.
My Uncle Henry Clarke has a little boy, I am so glad. He has had several and they have all died.
Katie joins me in love to you and Uncle, I remain
