Dear Mr. Pigott
I cannot let the day pass without writing a line to give you John's message which is that he would have called to tell you himself of his marriage to Mrs. Lewes had he not been immersed in business up to the last moment. I do not know if you have known of his long devotion to and adoration of our dear friend, but if you have you will sympathise with our happiness and will I hope feel with us that it is the best thing for them both. Feeling sure of your good wishes and with affectionate remembrances from all Believe me
Very sincerely yours
Eleanor Cross.
