Dear Sara
The enclosed came after you left. A visitor came to my office yesterday, longe expectatus Mr. P -- 573 cum tribus checkis, the whole infinitely to my satisfaction.
£150 to be paid next week
1 November
22 January, but I do not mean to consider the last available, because all besides £100 is out of his own pocket, and I think it hard upon him. We must make up about £70.
Dr. E. 574 called, and is much interested; he would have given me £10, but is too much shocked at the idea of the bookseller getting all the profit. Today he writes that Bailliere 575 consents to pay half the expenses of publication, and take half the profit. The bargain with Mr. C. 576 must certainly be amended before concluded.
