Coventry | April 7/55.
My dear Mr. Combe,
I am glad to hear that you and Mrs. Combe have got well through this severe winter. . . . Miss Evans is at Dover. Mr. Lewes has not joined his wife, as his wife; arrangements had been made for an entire seperation before he knew Miss Evans and I believe he is in London to complete them. He is also about to publish some large book -- and then I believe he is bound for Germany again and Italy. We are all well and desire the kindest remembrances to you and Mrs. Combe.
Do you know W. M. Thackeray? He is to lecture here on the 23rd. I should have been glad to see him, but do not know him. 249
Believe me my dear Mr. Combe
Ever yours sincerely
Charles Bray.
