MS: Yale. Hitherto unpublished.
Ivy Cottage, Monday.
My dear Marian,
Mr. Bracebridge has not received Mr. Lewes's letter; how was it addressed? I am sorry to worry you with this subject again, as we do not quite agree about it, but I have received a very long letter from Mr. Bracebridge, which I know he wishes you to see and which I think you ought to see, but which I do not like to send without your permission.
Ever yours affectionately
Charles Bray
He gives a good natured history of his researches and how, under what circumstances, and with whom they were conducted. It appears he was born all about there and is very proud of the phenomenon the district has produced.
