Yesterday I should have sent my picture 457 without a word or a name, afraid as an unacknowledged artist, of being impertinent; today I send it, with pleasure a thousand-fold greater and with thanks unlimited for the glorious satisfaction it is to know you as the author of the most inspiring novel of the age.
I can never tell you how glad I am, but I hope you will believe that I am always gratefully yours
