Hetty Sorrel at the pool

After Hetty finds out that Arthur has gone to Ireland, she wanders on. She is intent on looking for a pool, possibly to drown herself in. She finds a pool and sits by it and eats some bread, thinking about the pools in Hayslope. She tormets herself about whether she should commit suicide and slips in and out of sleep while lying by the pool (Book 5, Chapter 37).
