'Silva, if now between us came a sword'

When Silva finds Fedalma at the Gypsy camp after leaving his post at Bedmar, she tells him that even if her arm was cut off with a sword she would still clasp on to his hand and love him until she died. Her father, Zarca arrives and draws his sword on the couple, angry at Silva for the violence the Spaniards have inflicted on his people, and at the thought of his daughter marrying a Spaniard. (Book 3)
