'My child! I'll go with you.'

Mrs. Tulliver says, 'My child! I'll go with you', showing her love for her daughter Maggie, despite frequently chastizing her. Maggie has just left her brother Tom's house after he reacted with anger and condemnation to her return from an unplanned outing with Stephen Guest. Tom had previously stated his disdain for Stephen and his disapproval of his sister's relationship to him. (Book 7, Chapter 1)
