Alt Text Description
Grayscale illustration of a man standing at an open door, eyes seeing nothing. A little girl in a tatty shawl sits by the fireplace, warming her hands.
Description
Silas Marner stands at the door hoping to see his gold return, as has become his habit since the robbery. Unbeknownst to him, Molly Farren and Godrey Cass's daughter Eppie, toddles in and sits at the fire after her mother falls still in the snow outside. She has found a home.
