Willow Brook

Willow Brook,The brook in front of the Bede cottage, in Hayslope in which Thias Bede, Adam's father, is drowned. At the bottom of a slope near the cottage where the Evans family lives in Ellastone ("Hayslope") there is a brook, very like the "Willow Brook" of Adam Bede. (See Parkinson, Scenes, p. 90.)
