"Harvest-Song" (Real)

Title

"Harvest-Song" (Real)

Description

Song sung at the Harvest Supper at the Hall Farm. "Now the great ceremony of the evening was to begin--the harvest-song, in which every man must join; he might be in tune, if he liked to be singular, but must not sit with closed lips." The Harvest Song, "Here's a health unto our master," was common in the Midland counties. There are several versions with slight differences in the words.
