Aurispa (Hist.)

A scholar who brought back manuscripts from Greece. Giovanni Aurispa (c. 1369-1460), a distinguished Italian humanist, at one time professor of Greek at Florence. He went to Greece and brought back more than 200 manuscripts of classical authors.
