Description

A monastic order, called also the Frati Neri, or Black Brethren. The Augustinian Canons or Austin Canons, also called from the colour of their habit the Black Canons, or Black Brethren, who in the eleventh century adopted the Rule of St. Augustine. Their convent in Florence was the Convent and Church of Santo Spirito.
