Scala, Via della (Real)

Scala, Via della (Real),Street in Florence where the Rucellai Garden is located. The Via della Scala, still so called, took its name from the foundling hospital which had been established there by Cione di Lapo Pollini and placed under the direction of the hospital of Santa Maria della Scala, in Siena.
