San Stefano (Real),The church in Florence to the steps of which the starving Baldassarre Calvo is carried when Romola succours him. The Church of Santo Stefano, supposed to have been founded in 790, is now known as the Church of SS. Stefano e Cecilia, the Cecilia having been added in 1783 when a church of that name was suppressed.
