San Lorenzo (Real)

San Lorenzo (Real),The church in Florence where Savonarola preached during Lent, 1492. The ancient Church of San Lorenzo, consecrated by St. Ambrose in 393, was the first cathedral of Florence. Brunelleschi made the designs for its restoration in the first half of the fifteenth century. Some of Savonarola's most important sermons were preached in San Lorenzo.
