Por' del Prato (Real)

Por' del Prato (Real),Gate in Florence beyond which Tessa's mother and step-father live. This is the Porta al Prato, formerly a part of the walls, at the end of the Via del Prato. Guido Biagi points out that the form of the name used by George Eliot, Por del Prato, is incorrect. It was called al Prato because just within it was a large field.
