Palace of the Via Larga (Real)

Palace of the Via Larga (Real),The home of the Medici before their expulsion from Florence, where Charles VIII is lodged after his entry into Florence. This is the Palazzo Medici (sometimes called Palazzo Riccardi after its later owners) in the Via Cavour (formerly Via Larga). It was erected about 1444-52 by Michelozzo for Cosimo Pater Patriae. It is now a government building occupied by the prefecture.
