Gualfonda, Via (Real)

Gualfonda, Via (Real),Street in Florence where the artist Piero di Cosimo lives. The Via Gualfonda (now spelled Valfonda) extends from the Piazza della Stazione to the Viale Filippo Strozzi. George Eliot follows the authority of Bottari's foot note to Vasari in locating Piero di Cosimo's dwelling there, but Guido Biagi points out that that is an error, as Piero di Cosimo lived, according to his own declaration in the Rent Bolls of 1498, in the Via della Scala.
