Fosso, Via del (Real)

Fosso, Via del (Real),Street in Florence along which Baldassaree Calvo goes to purchase a knife at Niccolo Caparra's shop. This was the Via del Fosso (now a part of the Via de' Benci) which extended from the Ponte alle Grazie to the Borgo S. Croce. A part of the present Via Giuseppe Verdi which continues the Via de' Benci to the north was also called the Via del Fosso.
